Location: Ernest N. Morial Convention Center OpenSG: Birds of a Feather at SIGGRAPH 2009 The Open SG session is for everybody interested in the OpenSG Open Source scenegraph. On Tuesday from 5:30 - 6:30 pm in Room 264. IEEE VR 200903/2009, CACS Students win Best Paper Award at IEEE VR 2009IEEE VR, the premier international conference in Virtual Reality, every year has a committee of international experts select a Best Paper and a Best Sketch from the conference program. In addition to these expert-chosen publications this year the audience got to choose an additional Best Paper and Best Sketch. This year the Best Paper Award went to "JanusVF: Accurate Navigation Using SCAAT and Virtual Fiducials" by Malcolm Hutson, Steven White and Dr. Dirk Reiners. In addition to the committee award it also received the Audience Choice Award for Best Paper, giving it double validation by the whole international Virtual Reality community. The Best Sketch Award went to "Virtual vs. Real-World Pointing in Two-User Scenarios" by Holger Salzmann, Mathias Moehring and Dr. Bernd Froehlich, the Audience Choice Sketch Award went to "Automatic Creation of Massive Virtual Cities" by Charalambos Poullis and Dr.Suya You.
